具有操控特性、種族主義及貪婪的煙草商,正在摧毀我所愛之人和所愛的地方。我對於這個產業所被允許造成的痛苦、死亡和破壞,以及竟能安然脫身深感憤怒。

煙草商的產品每天殘殺110位加州人,其中包括甚至不使用煙草產品的人。每死亡一人,就代表有30人罹患與煙草相關的可怕疾病。每個人的健康都受到二手煙及電子煙的威脅。煙草產品對於有色人種及低收入族群,具有毀滅性的影響。

當煙草商利用糖果口味的產品,吸引新生代使用令人高度上癮的尼古丁,造成年輕人吸電子煙流行病肆虐。尼古丁會毒害大腦,可影響青少年的學習、記憶及注意力。

現在,我了解到香煙濾嘴是煙草商的營銷騙局。濾嘴完全無法減少危害,而且是用微塑料製造,微塑料會污染我們的空氣、水、土壤和食物。研究顯示已在人體肺部及糞便中發現微塑料,這代表我們正在吸入及攝入這些有毒物質。新的研究顯示還可能與DNA突變有關。

我無法再袖手旁觀,繼續眼睜睜看著煙草商使用致命的產品摧毀我的社區,我在此懇請您採取行動。
